Etheringtons Solicitors 5.

20.11.09
So nice, got invited to lunch, got 2 awesome buddies and compliments! Thank God

Last day. I really wanted it to last!
Anyways, got to work at 8:00 again, Michael was having breakfast with sister. It was funny how Paul was in, I gave him my thank you letter and a small gift for the firm, basically chocolates. Then it was to the dishwasher to unstack. After that, Michael sauntered in, had to unpick staples and hole punch files. After that, I was on his computer...attempting to type.

Yvonne and Zi were receptionists for the day. Caught the taxi with Christina! She is SO cool. It was funny because Michael talked to her in this really babyish tone while Christina replied with "Yes daddy" So hilarious.

Michael and I were dropped off at court.

We then walked to Vehain's chambers which was in the Edmond Barton's Chambers in the MLC building. Highly classy.

Then walked back up to the Supreme Court. Met up with Mayor Michael. We talked about lawyers, I have now realised I do NOT want to be a barrister. They are SO meticulous, so direct and I think I can't stand it. Seeing the cross examination over 4 days, I feel for the client, but they were ... I guess they are paid to be harsh. To a certain extent.

Started at 10. Took notes and more notes.

At recess adjournment, we went up to the top of the Supreme Court to the cafe. The view was So pretty. I swear our group should got there one day. Michael said it was open for the public..^^.

Back to more note taking. This time,  it seemed to me that Dawson changed his tactics.
Then it was lunch.

Michael told me to follow him. I told him I was meant to go to lunch with my friends, but he insisted. So we went to eat lunch at the Lindt Cafe.  Super classy. We discussed about the case and how in a defamation, there were three stages, there was the hearing where the jury decided whether there was a defamation. In the second hearing it was the defence and the third was damages.  He told me that in this case, they combined the 2 latter ones together, to sped up the proceedings. After that they have re examination by TOM!

I want to be there for re examinations... > <''

Anyways, we had lunch. Then he wanted to go to Harvey Norman to buy a laptop. I saw our NSGs outside at the usual place. They all had seen me at the cafe and decided to leave me...alone... = =''

Comments were: Oh wow, he is cute...

Before leaving me to find him as they went up to the cafe to buy ice-cream.

We went back to court. Took more notes, and Dawson was SO meticulous with the words "misleading" and "lying" He argued 5 minutes over that. I want the transcript. It was such a funny argument. But for Dawson, it was a  > <'' argument.

As the case ended at 4, Mayor Michael realised that I won't be back next week and gave me his card. If I ever needed a reference or someone to talk to, I could contact him! How NICE!.^^

We walked Roger and Tom back to their chambers. We photocopied exhibits and the tendered articles. Then we went back upstairs to Tom's chamber and listened to his awesome strategy to attack the defendants. They are bound to lose, now that they were resorting to limit the damages. If they wanted to win, they maybe able to get away with insanity defense but unfortunately, they are using qualified privilege. ^^

Damn, I want to go back to court for the next 3 weeks. Michael said I could, if I wanted to.

it was nice being complimented on my awesome notes!
he complained about having to take notes next week. ha.
lazy, letting me do all the work. XD.
at least he would miss my company. ^^.

It was nice knowing that I would be a good lawyer. XD
Then he told me I should drop by every now and then, to enquiry about the case. XD
He also promised me a reference and a report weekly on the case. So YES!

On the way back to the office, we talked about Dawson's performance. Got back to office...it was crazy...

Christina showed me the guy she has a crush on...(how sweet) while complaining to me that the barrister that invited her to a party had a tiny crush on her (aww..unrequited love)

Tim and Colin changed into their casual gear, and they LOOKED like high schoolers. They certainly acted like they were.

As Michael walked pass to the bathroom, Christina and Tim were talking about how Michael was a "that"
Tim also asked if I wanted to work on the Summer Vacation. Of course I wanted too! He said he would take me up on the offer, later.
XD

Then I was helping Michael tidy up his room as Tim stopped and decided to talk. It was funny as we didn't talk during the week, but a 5 minute talk seemed to be So sufficient. He = SO FUNNY!

He was complaining about how Michael was treating me badly and how he is such a player. He said to Michael: "You are treating her as if she is your personal assistant! Not FAIR!"

Then he ordered me not to help him. Then followed it up by commenting on the phone conversation between Michael and his friend. It went something like this

Michael was on the phone with his friend, congratulating her on finishing her exams, (she is an investment banker) and asked if she wanted to have dinner, as he was doing this Tim came along looked at me and said...

"...I bet that's a girl. See how his voice becomes softer, more smoother. You can tell, he usually yells and shouts at us, but his voice is much lower, much alluring and much more... hey don't worry, come to dinner with me, why do you want to spend time with your boring colleagues? I am so much more fun! Don't worry I'll look after you...etc. Such a smooth move...I need to learn from him....you see Elaine, he is a player, we should all learn from him. "

At this Michael was sticking up his rude finger and telling me, Tim was the guy who had 20 girls around his fingers!. Ha. such funny kids.

After the phone call, I asked Michael to fill everything, but he did halfway and died. So I asked Tim, WHO was very nice and filled out the rest.

As for the reference, I need to email him. XD.

Anyways, towards the end, Tim asked if I was 18. He explained if I was, we could all eat dinner together! But seeing I was 16...he stated that I wasn't allowed liquor. HA.

XP. So funny. They all said I should drop in sometime...I think I will....They are all such COOL people and amazing too.

Left at 6:15. Got home at 7:30

Thank God for this week. I loved it. I think I will visit it very soon. YES!
